Commissioner's ClerkThe County Clerk's position involves creating, coordinating and maintaining permanent records of the Tift County Board of Commissioners actions including historical and current official records, researching, interpreting and analyzing various reports, resolutions and ordinances and assures that legally required Board operational processes and procedures are followed.Serves as Clerk to the Tift County Board of Commissioners including preparing agendas for Board Meetings, gathering information for Meeting Agenda packets and notifying Commissioners, appropriate county Staff, news media and other interested parties of dates and times of Board Meetings. Attends all Board Meetings and composes a full and accurate account of all actions taken which account is the only legal evidence of actions taken by the Governing Body.The Clerk is responsible for responding to requests from the general public, the news media and the County employees for information and/or services.The Clerk serves as the contact person between ACCG (Association of County Commissioners of Georgia), the RDC (Regional Development Center) and the Tift County Board of Commissioners.The Clerk secures and maintains insurance for all County property, vehicles, and buildings.
