Community Development

The Tift County Community Development Department was created in 1975 by the Tift County Board of Commissioners and has functioned well as a principle part of Tift County Government.  A well run Community Development Department will bring millions of state and federal dollars to a local community to help establish and maintain a better quality of life for citizens therein.  Economic Development, grant management, public facilities improvements, drainage & street paving, public transportation, and housing are some of the vital components of a properly functioning Community Development Department.  Through continued progress and development the Tift County Tax Digest continues to grow and local vendors reap the benefits of the sale of their goods and services.
