E. B. Hamilton/Friendly City Park Aerial View

FRIENDLY CITY PARK

This 80.2 acre facility is located at the junction of E.B. Hamilton Drive and Rutland Road, approximately two miles west of I-75 Exit 63A. Contained within the park are the E. B Hamilton softball complex, the Friendly City Pavilion, Amphitheater and the Optimist Soccer Complex, as well as picnic tables, a playground and nature trails.

FRIENDLY CITY PARK PAVILION

This open-air pavilion is located in the heart of Friendly City Park overlooking one of two ponds. The facility, which can seat 300, includes a full-service kitchen and can be used for family reunions, birthday parties, picnics, company outings and other activities. The pavilion is available from March to October 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. A fee is charged for pavilion use and reservations must be made in advance.

FRIENDLY CITY PARK AMPHITHEATER

Currently under construction, the Friendly City Park Amphitheater will be one of the top drawing cards to the park in the future. Planned attractions include concerts, dramatic presentations and shows.

OPTIMIST SOCCER COMPLEX

The Optimist Soccer Complex is located on the north end of Friendly City Park. The complex consists of three fields and is the home of the TCRD youth soccer program. The facility will also be available to host soccer tournaments.

 

E.B. HAMILTON COMPLEX

The Hamilton Complex is a six-field softball facility in Friendly City Park and has hosted more than 40 national championships since opening in 1984. In addition to tournament softball, the facility is also home for the Tift County High School Lady Devils and the TCRD youth and adult softball leagues.

CITY RECREATION FACILITIES

Ridge Avenue, Second Street, Victory Drive and Fourth Street border this 24.2-acre development. Included in the facility are six athletic fields (Burgess, Connor, Eve, Orr, Sertoma and Spurlin) used for baseball, softball, football and soccer. Also included are four-lighted tennis courts, Baldwin Drive Pool, outdoor basketball courts, picnic facilities, the administration offices and a Special Programs Center.

 

 

 

 

 

 

TCRD PUBLIC PARKS

TCRD also maintains three public parks: Copeland Park (located at the corner of Southern Road and Peachtree Street). Haire Park (located on South Ridge Avenue) and Puckett Park (located at Elm Street and Bellview Avenue). These parks feature playground equipment, basketball courts and picnic facilities.

MOTT-LITMAN GYM

This 9-acre facility is located on Emerson-Obynes Ave. across from J. T. Reddick Elementary. This park contains an outside multi-purpose area and a gymnasium that is utilized for basketball, volleyball, table tennis, summer day camp activities and activity rentals.

Baldwin Drive Aquatic Center

This facility includes an eight lane 25meter X 25yard pool, a lap pool and a zero to two foot kiddy fun pool. This center also houses lifeguard offices, concession area, restrooms and dressing facilities.

TCRD Multi-purpose Building and Administrative Offices

This facility was constructed by SPLOST funds and is located at 401 N Victory Drive. Gymnasium, Multi-purpose Room, Meeting Room, Fitness Center, and locker rooms along with the Administrative offices for the Recreation Department.
